The Rice Genome Annotation Project has moved from TIGR to Michigan State University. The new URL for the project is:
http://rice.plantbiology.msu.edu
The pseudomolecules, annotation, search/query tools and genome browser are the same version formerly hosted at TIGR (Release 5). We are currently working on Release 6 and anticipate that it will be ready during Fall 2008.
The Rice Genome Annotation Project Database and Resource is a National Science
Foundation project and provides sequence and annotation data for the rice
genome. Through these pages, you can view, search, and download our annotation
of the rice genome. All of the data is freely available and comments on the data or improvements to these pages are welcome.
The major features of our pages are the sequence and annotation of the 12
rice chromosomes and the Genome Browser that provides an integrated display of annotation data.
Oryza SNP Consortium Data Release
The Oryza SNP Consortium would like to announce the upcoming initial release of our rice SNP dataset. The Consortium has preformed a survey for SNPs within 100 Mb of unique and low copy genomic sequence using 20 diverse rice cultivars. SNPs have been identified using the array-based resequencing method developed by Perlegen Sciences. These data are also mirrored at Michigan State University at OryzaSNP @ MSU.
Rice Annotation Release 5 Available
We are pleased to announce release 5
of the Rice Pseudomolecules and Genome Annotation. The official release
date for this version was January 24, 2007. We
have made major improvements in this release. The Pseudomolecule Information Page has more information
about the Release 5 pseudomolecules. The What's New page has a summary of the updates for the Rice Genome Annotation project web site and the Rice Genome Browser.
Community Annotation Effort for the Rice Genome
We have undertaken an effort to obtain structural and functional annotation
of the rice genome from researchers in the community. We have recently
completed beta testing with a small number of users and are now actively
soliciting submssions. Detailed information about contributing structural
and/or functional information can be found on the Community
Annotation Information page. Detailed pages highlighting the annotation by
gene family can be found on the Community Annotation
Gene Families page. If you would like to participate in the community
annotation effort or have questions/comments, please contact us rice@plantbiology.msu.edu.
